1. Who We Are

LeakRate is operated by Appecho Labs LLC, a Virginia limited liability company located at Alexandria, VA 22304 ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use the LeakRate mobile application, web dashboard, website, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: Name, email address, password, phone number (optional), company name (optional), EPA certification number (optional)
  • Customer records: Client names, business names, addresses, and contact information you enter for your customers
  • Equipment data: Equipment types, manufacturers, model numbers, serial numbers, refrigerant types, full charge capacities, and locations
  • Service event data: Dates, refrigerant amounts added/recovered, service types, technician notes, parts serviced
  • Photos and signatures: Images you capture during service events and customer/technician signatures
  • Cylinder data: Cylinder identifiers, refrigerant types, weights, and transaction records
  • Payment information: Processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full payment details on our servers.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers
  • GPS location: Captured at the time of service event logging, only when you grant location permission. Used to document service location for compliance records. Not tracked continuously.
  • Usage data: Features used, screens visited, calculation history, timestamps of actions
  • Crash and performance data: Error logs, crash reports, and performance metrics to improve the Service
  • Push notification tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens for delivering notifications

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Authentication providers: If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from those providers. We do not receive your password.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Service: Store your data, perform leak rate calculations, generate reports, sync data across devices, and deliver notifications
  • Maintain your account: Authenticate you, manage your subscription, process payments, and provide customer support
  • Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and develop new features
  • Communicate with you: Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, billing receipts), compliance alerts, and service notifications
  • Ensure security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Comply with law: Respond to legal requests and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect your information. Categories include:

  • Cloud infrastructure: Data storage, authentication, and application hosting
  • Payment processing: Subscription billing and payment handling
  • App distribution: Delivery via Apple App Store and Google Play

4.2 Team Members

If you are part of a Team or Enterprise account, your service event data, name, and EPA certification number are visible to the account owner and authorized managers. This is necessary for the Service to function as a team compliance tool.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4.4 Business Transfers

If Appecho Labs LLC is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice within the Service before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Where We Store Data

Your data is stored in the United States using cloud infrastructure providers. Local data on your device is stored in an encrypted database.

5.2 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit and at rest
  • Secure authentication with token management
  • Server-side security rules enforcing role-based access control
  • Secure credential storage on-device using platform-provided secure storage
  • No plain-text storage of passwords or payment information

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and device.

5.3 Data Retention

  • Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active
  • Deleted accounts: We delete your User Data within 90 days of account deletion, except where required by law
  • Backups: Data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 180 days after deletion
  • Aggregated data: We may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you indefinitely for analytical purposes

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Portability

You can access your data at any time through the Service. Paid subscribers can export data via PDF reports. You may request a copy of your data by contacting support@leakrate608.com.

6.2 Correction

You can update your account information and correct data through the Service at any time.

6.3 Deletion

You can delete your account through the app settings or by contacting support@leakrate608.com. Account deletion removes your profile and User Data as described in Section 5.3.

6.4 Location Data

You can disable location permissions in your device settings at any time. Service events logged without location permission will not include GPS coordinates.

6.5 Push Notifications

You can disable push notifications in your device settings or within the app's notification settings.

6.6 Marketing Communications

We do not send marketing emails. All email communications are transactional (account-related, billing, or compliance alerts). You can manage notification preferences within the app.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete that information promptly. 8. State-Specific Privacy Rights

8.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected
  • Right to delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
  • Right to opt out of sale: We do not sell personal information. No opt-out is necessary.
  • Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

8.2 Virginia Residents (VCDPA)

Virginia residents have similar rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, including rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal data. Contact support@leakrate608.com to exercise these rights.

9. International Users

The Service is operated in the United States and intended for use in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice within the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
